1. Guess we know how they are meeting their quotas now, eh?
:eyes:
Are we back to the days where judges offer defendents Army instead of jail time yet?

4. that and they changed their quotas
reduced them significantly in order to say they now are meeting them. Still far short of the old ones though. :)

5. I'm all for giving shoplifters and petty thieves a second chance
or the kid that "borrowed" the neighbor's car for a joy ride or the one who merely got in with the wrong crowd--but how many of their waivers are for serious offences? And how will we ever really know how many skinheads and their ilk are getting in to obtain "training"? I've heard of neo nazi websites that encourage this sort of thing.

8. You posted what I was thinking. We don't know the nature of the offenses.
Yet I suppose many DU'er will automatically declare the worst because it helps reinforce their opinions of the Iraq quagmire.

9. When I grew up there was a draft and also a get out of jail free card if
you joined the military. Straightened out a lot of kids that were headed down the wrong path. Wish that alternative were still available today actually...My experience in the military can be summed up like this...I would not trade that time for anything in the world but I also would not wish it upon my worst enemy....
