What will get humanity to work TOGETHER?

I'm in the middle of finishing a manual for ficition... and the assumption that humans encountered a greater threat

An Alien threat

Corny... absolutely

But that is what got two future human societies to lay their arms down and start seeing each other as well humans

So I got to wonder

Will global warming be that moment for the real humanity?

Will this global warming be the moment of clarity erasing all kinds of social, religious and cultural lines?

No

I fear that this will only launch what also became part of that history... the worst wars in human history, as we fight for diminishing returns

The situation between Alabama and Georgia over water is in my view a preview of what's to come

And the probably ecological refugees are also a preview of this new reality

Could the powers that be (yes I know they range from the fantastical to what we can prove) be preparing for martial law since they know what is coming? And they believe this is the only way to prevent civil unrest?

Perhaps.

And their intentions may be noble (Yes, even george... no, did I type that... scratch george), but in reality this treating us as children who need to be prodded and guided is part of the problem. We are adults, and I hope mature enough to realize what is at stake. And to realize that we are in this together.

Just a random thought while i had my dinner ...

Trying to look for ... motives for the instanity... even if my gut tells me that evil is real, is bana and is present in the world and that some folks do thing in the pure pursuit of power.

aliens, corny; asteroid, hackneyed; both, correct. Short of those, a miracle - unlikely to impossible.
Any ecological or biological threat will only, as you said, be a basis for wars of one sort or another.

It will need to be an event of such proportions that it will bring truth and revelation to all humanity. That will strike every individual on a primal level.

I don't see anything like that happening around this planet today. I see a lot of the opposite.

We seem to be too nationalistic to unite behind some vague idea like world peace. But bring in some space invaders and we will become a nationalistic planet.

Other than alien invaders, I can't think of a thing.

And it could be the basis for a post modern novel too

and Joe Biden supported for his anti-constitutional RAVE ACT, MDMA was used primarily in the treatment of serious trauma victims (after of course Merck had introduced it as a dietary supplement in WW1 - That football match between the German and British troops may make some sense now).

Most hatred is a result of some form of learned bigotry, be it religion, racism etc etc. The reality is, that only something as powerful as MDMA has the ability to destroy all learned anti-social behaviour and make people view each other as human beings.

This is why the Bush administration and the Reslugs were the only people who saw that the RAVE Act was passed, they needed fresh fodder for their illegal wars, and whereas in the 60s they had a draft which was the only way they could overcome the "hippy" movement, the buggest musical movement in the USA at the time was the electronic music movement, which was espousing Peace, Love, Unity and Respect.

Go figure huh?
