The 10:00 local news just spent its first fifteen (15) minutes of broadcast
highlighting the departure of Joe Torre from the New York Yankees.

First

Fifteen

Minutes.

Second story at 10:16 -- Home invasion on Long Island

Third story at 10:17 -- Al Sharpton called in for bat attack on Staten Island

Fourth story at 10:18 -- 18 swatzikas found on a Manhattan high school.

Fifteen minutes devoted to a former manager of the New York Yankee.

5 mil is a little deceiving. It was 3 with incentives and

for one year. In context it was a bit insulting and George was being an ass.

10. There hasn't been any news on the typical local news broadcast for at
least 20 years.

It's a distracting combination of violent crimes, amazing car crashes, "heartwarming" stories about cute children or cute animals, promos for the networks' TV series, and sports. Lots and lots of sports, because sports are the most important thing in the world.

You'll search in vain for any news about what your city council and state legislature are up to, or what tricks the local companies are trying to pull.
