So, David Copperfield had $2 million in cash in a safe and FBI agents took it....
Snip:

A source close to the investigation last night tells Eyewitness News twelve Seattle FBI agents descended on the warehouse and took a computer hard drive and a memory chip from a digital camera system. The source also says there was nearly $2 million in cash stuffed away inside a safe in the warehouse. Agents are said to have taken that cash.

.....
FBI Raids Warehouse of Las Vegas Illusionist David Copperfield
David Copperfield, famed illusionist and Las Vegas regular, appears to be the target of a late night FBI raid.

A dozen FBI agents stormed Copperfield's warehouse near West Russell and Valley View and came away with evidence for an investigation reaching all the way to Seattle.

Wonder if he will ever see that money again? Not sure why they would take that (a woman claims he raped her in the Bahama's and the raid was related to that supposedly).

11. why does it matter? the feds need a REASON to seized it
and I would imagine it might be tough to explain WHY they seized it...I cannot see how this relates to potential charges of sexual assault.

As to why he might keep it...well, it is HIS business. Maybe he distrusts banks and has this as a hedge. Maybe he has to pay his work crews in cash under the table to keep the secrets to his illusions a secret. Maybe he takes it out of the safe and rolls around on it on the floor laughing gleefully all the while...it really doesn't matter and it certain need not be something sinister.

14. They had a warrant correct?
I think the rumor about sexual assault is just that--a rumor. At this point we have no idea what is really going on. I was pointing out that keeping large amounts of cash around usually is indicative of some sort of illegal activity.

21. Not very likely.
Maybe it has something to do with illegal importation of animals.

6. The agents had Copperfield cornered in the warehouse
But then he stuck a very dramatic pose, waved his arms, and disappeared only to reappear in one moment on the rafters of the warehouse at the opposite end where he had been. He then proceeded to fly through the air with no visible means of support, entered a wooden box barely sizable to fit him, and disappeared.

Agents were stunned, calling it a wonderful performance.

I do not know for sure, however. That is supposed to be non-violent mand probably not connected to this story.

19. Indeed.
If the allegations are true and he really is TWISTed, THE BATTLE OF LIFE may be over for this HAUNTED MAN.
He would serve his time in a BLEAK HOUSE with bars on the windows, and would end up, as would YOU OR I A HEEP.

He may be an ARTFUL DODGER though, and the police may not have a case against him, but are simply FAGIN it.
