current linguistic peeve of the week! the word "mine"
'Mine' is a possessive 1st person singular pronoun! read that again, possessive 1st person singular! it is the embodiment of selfish, non-sharing, community-destroying insensitivity! it lays the foundations of sociopathy! it creates republicans! the horror, the horror...


i pucker up like this when i hear the word 'mine'. ---> :*
it's bad, mmmkay. don't use it if you don't have to!

Are kids and teens still saying that?
They were when I taught Elementary, then High School age. I kept correcting them, but they kept on saying "That's mine's"
