When confirmed, will Michael Mukasey be the most powerful person in the world?
Given we know Bush has committed crimes--by his own admission illegally spying on Americans for just one--the new AG, if he should decide to do something about the criminality of the Bush junta, can bring it down. As the new highest-ranking law enforcement officer in the United States, Mukasey will be a very powerful person because his job will be to hold the Bush/Cheney junta accountable for their crimes.

The other option, of course, is to become one with the junta, and continue the Gonzo tradition of not holding the bosses accountable to the laws of the land.

Will Mukasey surprise us all and actually enforce the law?
If he does, will noone be as surprised as Bush and Cheney?
