California Waiting for the National Guard
Long traffic delays with the evactuation routes as the National Guard is nowhere to be found and state and local law enforcement is swamp. Law Enforcement will not respond to fender benders and other minor incidents, they don't have the manpower. Governor Davis better get off his butt and start managing this better. Oops, that would be Gov Arnold.

10. Along with most of their equipment.
According to a recent report by a congressional commission, nearly “90 percent of Army National Guard units in the United States are rated ‘not ready,” largely “as a result of shortfalls in billions of dollars’ worth of equipment.” A January Government Accountability Office analysis found that the Pentagon “does not adequately track National Guard equipment needs for domestic missions” and as a consequence, “state National Guards may be hampered in their ability to plan for responding to large-scale domestic events.”

Message to Chimpy--STAY HOME. We don't want your jokes about how you had "too much fun" in San Diego when you were a young man.

11. Speaking of stupid...
Apparently some people mis-interpreted "evacuate to Qualcomm" and went to Qualcomm Corporate Hq, not Qualcomm stadium.

Good thing they weren't told to go to Petco.

12. Well, after what happened at the Superdome during Katrina...
...I'd say only stupid people would go to a stadium during an emergency.

15. After Katrina we know better than to try and depend on FEMA
And the Superdome could flood. Qualcomm ain't gonna burn.

14. One of the news anchors just said her husband is a marine chopper pilot
He is geared-up and ready, but just like Katrina, the "GO" order is not forthcoming.

22. GOBROWNIEGO!!!
Just when you think Mr. "Heck of a job Brownie" Brown was the lowest of the low - the ReThugs set a new low. To those in harms's way in CA - don't wait for the "official" word to evacuate, it will be too late. Get out now and do not depend on the feds.

From a Katrina survivor, don't count on help rebuilding either.
