While Al Gore still dominates the DFA Pulse poll as a write-in candidate with nearly 30% of the vote, an amazing fact after over 65,000 votes have been counted, Edwards wins in every head-to-head match up and is the only candidate to do so. Here are the results (the DFA Pulse Poll uses run-off voting to enable these match-ups; numbers rounded):
Edwards v. Gore
61 - 39
Edwards v. Obama
59 - 41
Edwards v. Biden
88 - 12
Edwards v. Clinton
74 - 26
Edwards v. Dodd
91 - 9
Edwards v. Kucinich
66 - 33
Edwards v. Richardson
81 - 19
Edwards v. Gravel
91 - 9

Note: The DFA Pulse Poll requires users to register their email, name and address. Duplicate votes *are* checked for (even on write-ins). It considers rankings to perform the equivalent of an instant-run-off style election (something that doesn't really happen in the U.S.). While the head-to-head matchups are interesting, they show different results from the actual poll because the main poll results counts every candidate as running without run-offs. Still, they are a good measure of the strength of a candidate. I was surprised to see how strong of a candidate Edwards really is.
