Did Bush take a little swipe at MSNBC's David Gregory?

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/02/20070214-2.html

Press Conference by the President
11:01 A.M. EST

<snip>

THE PRESIDENT: ...

Anyway, that's a long answer to a short question, and now you're trying to get to me to -- Gregory. Excuse me, David. David.

Q Thank you, sir. I'd like to follow on Iran. Critics say that you are using the same quality of intelligence about Iran that you used to make the case for war in Iraq, specifically about WMD that turned out to be wrong, and that you are doing that to make a case for war against Iran. Is that the case?

Did Bush just screw up his name, or was it deliberate?

What we know:

- Bush calls everyone by their first names
- BushCo preselects who they are going to "call on"
- David Gregory has been in the WH pool for several years
- David Gregory is no Jeff Gannon
- The transcript doesn't reflect that there was a second or two before Bush corrected himself

5. I saw that and
I watched most of the idiot son's speech. Of course it was a dig. Also noticed he said "Democrat" instead of Democratic three times. The guy is such an asshole I am livid he's fucking on the air on VALENTINE's DAY to promote his next FUCKING WAR. I hate him more every second. That's right freepers, I'm filled with hate on the day of love because your fucking president is itching to kill more of humanity. UGH. When is this nightmare over?

He singled out David Gregory even before this -- on a presidential visit to Europe, Bush got all jealous because Gregory, who is bilingual, dared to speak to the French President in French. Instead of being being proud that there are Americans who are sophisticated and well-travelled, Bush went off on him!

"Bush ridiculed the reporter, who asked Bush a question about the protests and then tried to ask French President Chirac a question in French. "The guy memorizes four words, and he plays like he's intercontinental," said Bush. "Sir, if I could just follow," the reporter began. "Thank you," Bush shot back, as he answered the questions and then silenced Gregory. As Bush stepped away from the podium, he called to Gregory. "As soon as you get in front of a camera, you start showing off."

Bush also added, “I’m impressed. Que bueno. Now I am literate in two languages.” (more commentary here)
