On the Stark Censure - 5 Dem hypocrites and 8 Dem cowards
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 02:20 PM by RiverStone
What the fuck!

I'm both baffled and saddened by Pete Stark's apology, mea culpa, or what ever the hell he did.

Last week I started a Pete Stark appreciation thread; we are so needing heroes in this party that stand up to BushCo and his lock-stepping war mongering minions. Then as soon as we champion the words of someone with enough guts to speak from the heart, he gets slapped back into place.
Crying an apology!

Sadly, Pete marginalized the rest of our voices by acknowledging there was fault in his. There was not!

Collectively, we need more Dems in the original mold of Pete's comments do the same. This administration rules by blunt force intimidation. And I'm so damn sick of those that tremble in its wake.

We need more heroes in our party - and I'm going to recognize one every time I see it! Last week, Pete Stark was a hero. This week, he is an apologist.

4. Kinda like a small penis.
Could be the best lover in the world but he never gets over it! It is so sad to see the Dems, hog tied for reasons unknown.

3. Wonderful Future
Any democrat who has some fire in his gut will be afraid to say what's in their hearts. The
message has been solidly given to the rest of the party of our choice. Watch what you say or else.
I'm so sick of all this.

5. Heath Shuler - now there's a wolf in sheep's clothing
Not much different from what he replaced. Nice to see he's continuing his proud tradition of voting G.O.P. even if he says he's a Democrat.

9. Shuler has been a HUGE disappointment. I want to see him go
in favor of a true progressive.

10. At this point, a moderate Democrat would be a welcome change
I have some friends in that area and they've been critical of him since before he was elected. Pretty much has the reputation (along with his family) as being Republicans.

He's a sad attempt by the DLC dems to pass of a viable Democrat in that area.

6. Actually there were eight who voted present: you left out cleaver and loesback,
My question is why did Cleaver and Loesback -- members of the progressive caucus -- vote present?
