can you feel it?
The sick feeling in your gut that says that things may get so bad that an era will be named after it.

Can we be so stupid as a race that we fight petty squabbles while the planet cries out in pain?

We've had ten thousand years to find a way to live together and still we kill our fellow man over bloodstained patches of ground or simple differences of opinion.

We live for the fight, we thrive on conflict, we throw our waste into clean water, we turn air brown, we kill for sport.

We deserve the hell that is about to happen.

3. I've not felt it in years...
Mind you, if you're talking about a divorce I should inform you I'm not married...

4. Most don't deserve bad things, but as a species I fear we are overdue for a die-off...

...and it makes me sad, that's all. But no, the vast majority have done nothing more than lead their lives as best they know how.

I believe in education (about ecology, about excess population, etc.), and I believe in the power we invest in governments to do something for the collective good. But I also observe the other side of the coin -- that mass ignorance serves those who accumulate power and value power above all, and then endeavor to rule all.

That is our struggle now. And yes, we may well be living in a "named" era.

6. exactly
The pressure on the planet will insure that at some point in the future a Large percentage of humanity will die. Humans are not going to wise up anytime soon. Having a bad day.

5. What I feel deep in my gut is,...humanity's worst criminals are still committing crimes.
That's what I feel, inside.

The human race will survive these barbaric boils.

The planet will certainly survive the human race.

7. I'm in shock that we have sunk so low so quickly.
And everyday we sink lower.

November 2006 proved to be a brief, false hope.

Pelosi and Reid have sold us down the river. We are going to drown.

8. its a familiar feeling- it is
hope that has been something I've been afraid to fully embrace-

We don't 'deserve' the hell that is coming, any more than people 'deserve' to be born rich- or poor.

We are little more than pawns - used by the powerful and unable to extend our reach beyond the next square.

9. I think humans will figure out how to live well
on the earth someday. But there will have to be major reductions in population and I don't know how technology will play into it, since it seems we just use it to screw things up.
