Business dress irks (men)
I just don't like to see men in white starched shirts anymore. Too IBM 1960s to me. With all those colors, why be square?

4. Consider this:
Executives and managers are generally hired for their brainpower. But they have to wear a ligature around their necks that a U. of Kansas study has identified to cause a reduction of bloodflow, to the brain, of 10% or more.

There is a metaphor for American Capitalism and Business in there somewhere, waiting to be teased out.

6. I'm wearing sweats right now at my programming job
When I first entered the programming field, I would call my friends at their workplaces and ask them what they were wearing (in a non-kinky way) because they had to wear ties and whatnot. Then i would let them know what I was wearing. :)

7. I tend to assume that the guy who's not in some kind of corporate uniform...
... is the smart one.

That is, his brain is so rare and essential that they have to let him wear anything he wants, much as they hate to do that.

Same for hair. It's the Einstein Effect.

9. I haven't worn a white shirt my entire office career.
Always coloured shirts. White shirt feels like a uniform. 12 months ago I even started ditching the tie and untucking the shirt. Everyday should be BisCasFri.

10. I love a good white shirt. It's the male equivalent of the simple black dress, as a
wardrobe staple.

13. 12 Years of Catholic School Have Soured Me on Dress Shirts and Ties Forever.
I conform to the very MINIMUM of our company's dress code (polo shirts every day, except for casual Fridays, when it's a t-shirt and jeans). A few weeks ago I applied for a higher position, and wore a dress shirt and tie...at the interview, both the ladies commented on how nice I looked. I told them, "Don't get used to it." Needless to say, I didn't get the position. :hippie:
