Did you ever think about the States most devastated by natural
disasters are Dem voting States? La. was mostly Dem. in the populace voting, and so is Calif. Doesn't it seem like the natual disasters that have happened in thos states were handled a bit worse than Florida or Mississippi?

2. California has a Republican governor
and the areas hit worst by the fires are to a great extent Republican congressional districts. Malibu is in Waxman's district, and I think one of the other congressmen is Democratic, but one of the districts that was hit the worst was the district formerly represented by Cunningham.

3. Take my word on this, given the experience with the Cedar fire
many of those folks are in for nightmares they never expected or wanted

That said yes Bilbray represents them, and we saw the politization of this starting last night.

5. Yes I know Arnie is a Pub, but the State traditionally always votes Dem in
National elections. I don't see any comparrison between NO and Calif. tragedies, other than no matter how bad things get in Fl. things always seem to get fixed quicker. Maybe it's just my political bias, but I don't think so.

8. Hunter and Filner's districts were hard-hit, too.
Hunter includes most of East County, including Ramona, and Lakeside, two hard-hit communities. He may have lost his own home again to the flames; he was evacuated just after rebuidling it from the Cedar Fire.

Filner's district includes Potrero, where the Harris fire started. Potrero has been very hard hit, unfortunately.

4. Perhaps that's why they tend to be blue.
They see first-hand that govt assistance is needed at times and that we have to help each other out instead of just being out for ourselves.

7. It has been reported and discussed that FLa and Mississippi
had Republican Governors a Republican Congress and Republican President.

It is not fair but undeer some Presidents they are really more favorable
and helpful to the states run by their party.

Mississippi and Fla acturally received more assistance.
