I just got SPAMMED by DODD for President. Coool Take Action e-mail on FISA

All four have indicated their opposition within the Judiciary Committee to any FISA bill that contains retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies.

But that's only 40% of where we need to be to stop the provision in the Judiciary Committee.

Take a moment to make one last phone call before the weekend and ask the remaining members of the committee where they stand, and thank those who have already taken the right position.

I thought that was strange, since no one else uses my computer.
But I clicked, and put in the right information.
I sent the suggested email.

Here's the kicker: two minutes later, I got an email from The Whitehouse, saying that
President Bush thanks me for writing to him but, due to the volume of emails, he cannot
answer each one.

WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN???????!!! Anyone have a clue??

One of the aspects of creating a form that some people overlook is that there can be default settings in some fields. So, Larry may have created this one and did no examine the code closely. No big deal that.

Am I freaking out over nothing? ( I'm very tech-ignorant, but it seems so weird!).

The mail isn't coming from Dodd but from a Spammer. By giving them your e-mail, you're likely to get lots more spam mail. I wouldn't put it above the White House to pull such a stunt, but it's probably someone from Moldova doing it. I got the same e-mail, but since I wouldn't trust Dodd any further than I can throw him, I didn't reply.

We give out info for free, most of the time!
