10. It can be. But generally the people who want to hear what they want to hear...
...could care less what the truth is. Thats been my experience.

4. Me: Truth. Them: Only what they want to hear.

5. Democrats = truth; Republicans = what they're supposed to hear.
GOPers don't know how to think for themselves, they've been programmed to believe whatever Rush or Bill has told them they should believe this week.

Republicans = Pathetic.

7. People want to be told
what will reinforce their version of reality. They get pissed off when the truth interfers with that. They say they want the truth but they really just want to hear what they want to hear.

8. What do successul politicians do? Do they tell the truth or do they tell people what they
want to hear?

I think it's pretty obvious.

14. 1984 Presidential election: Mondale told us the truth; Reagan told us what we wanted to hear.

15. How else would Hillary be winning
What they want to hear. The way vast majority don't want to deal with the difficulty of the issues, they just want a pat on the head and to be on the team that makes them feel morally superior. That's it.

I really wish it didn't have to be that way though.
