What is it about Tweety that some here cannot understand?
The S.O.B. gets paid to set fires in both camps. I find myself laughing out loud sometimes, reading threads here about Matthews. They go up and down like a roller coaster. Some here love him, then do an abrupt about face and hate him. Then, after a couple of shows where he bashes repubs, they love him again. Once you watchers of Hardball figure him out, maybe you will do yourselves a favor and quit watching him altogether. He has got to be laughing all the way to the bank.

1. Umm, why he is on tv at all?
My question...

Seriously, you are correct of course... Some of us just hate to acknowledge the true depths of cynicism inherent in "cable news" now a days.

4. Granted. It's disgusting, what is passed off as "serious" political
discourse these days. It is one main reason why I quit being a participating viewer in such dog and pony shows.

5. My note to MSNBC re Tweety. He went over the top this time....
Edited on Fri Oct-26-07 07:21 PM by monmouth
With the exception of Keith Olbermann, MSNBC pundits have become unwatchable. Let's start with the snarky Scarborough who fancies himself as a pundit. I've gone to the radio, can't stand him. God I miss Imus, then the insipid Tucker with his shrill nonsensical buffoonery. Depending on which way the wind is blowing and whether or not the moon is full, along comes Matthews. I found his remarks against the Democratic candidate, Senator Hillary Clinton to not only be absurd and downright nasty and shrill, but he is starting to sound a little deranged.. I realize the Clintons passed him over (I can certainly understand their prudent call on this) for Press Secretary or whatever position he wanted with them, but tonights evisceration was totally over the top and uncalled for. I find MSNBC a mouthpiece for the WH and that is a shame. Getting rid of Scarborough, Carlson and moving Matthews to noon might be a big improvement. I don't watch TV at noon..... Shame on you MSNBC, I had higher hopes for you.

6. That's our lovely media for sure..
Edited on Fri Oct-26-07 07:13 PM by SoCalDem
They get multiple coverage by taking, then attacking all sides.. they are all paid bomb-throwers..and all in the name of "fairness"

The blessing here is that their viewship is miniscule, and more people are watching other things when they are on..and only politically savvy people even CARE what they are saying..and we all have chosen sides long ago :)

13. here
I need to do more of this:

http://www.drweil.com/drw/ecs/forums/thread.html?docid=THR44395&catid=582

and, from the 'do not do' list, some heresy?

4. Don't watch the news.

You pay attention what you put into your body; pay attention to what you put into your mind. I'm not advocating that you become completely uninformed about the world around you, but studies have shown that people often experience heightened emotions, anxiety, even anger when watching these programs.

Dr. Andrew Weil even suggests a total "news fast" for one day -- don't read, watch, or listen to any news for one day, then increase it as you feel comfortable. If that's too drastic for you, perhaps try a method that's a little less invasive, such as print or online, where you have a bit more control than the images being right in your living room. Choose your news carefully.

one day? how about forever?

time for a break, I think

18. He's a rightwing tool. He is not an equal opportunity arsonist.
And hardly anyone here love him. Lots of us like to report on or read about the latest toolery from tweety. I agree with you about turning him off. I can't watch any of those clowns and stopped using the tv for any news other than the morning weather a long time ago.

And where did I say in my thread that a lot of people here loved him? As I said, he gets paid to set fires in both camps, which is true.

27. My husband loves Tweety but was angrly as hell at hin tonight.
He was a total asshole toward Hillary tonight.

I posted a little after 5:00 that people watch him as he was beating up on Hillary and hardly anyone responded or weren't interested and it sunk like a stone. So I assumed most people didn't care if he was attacking Hillary. This isn't a very friendly Hillary place. DU seems to belong to Obama.

Anyway, obviously Tweety doesn't like Hillary and we can expect a lot more of these kind of comments for the next several months. Psssst...I think Tweety likes Edwards and I don't think he likes any Rethugs except his hero Rudy.
