According to Luke 17:21, Jesus said:

“...behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Perhaps that’s why the leaders of the Christianist Right are so full of hate and a desire to harm others. They can see and do outwardly only what’s within them, and what’s in there is the exact opposite of the Christian message. Perhaps that’s also why more and more true Christians are turning their backs on these fanatics and their organizations.

The old guard of the Christianist Right is being buried by its own pomposity and twisted rhetoric. Consider the Gospel According to James Dobson:

This too shall pass, as anybody who's been constipated knows.

I anticipate Moon's passing with the most glee. The squabble over his empire should be spectacular.

which really shows up the Christian Right...

Jesus said: "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside you, and it is outside you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you will dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."
