Tim Russert pulls numbers out of his ass.
14%, he said believe in UFO's.

Less than a minute on Google put the numbers between 33% and 80 fucking percent - depending on how the question is asked.

Even the lowest in that range is higher than Bush's approval rating. It wasn't enough Tim had to railroad him like that, but then to LIE just to embarrass him more?!

Apologies are in order. "Newspeople" shouldn't pull stats out of their tremendous assholes like that.

1. Frightening. No telling what resources are hidden in that vast storehouse.

2. Just another day, another lie for the corporate media
Who's gonna call him on it other than people here (the internet)?

They manufacture reality, and the truth doesn't mean shit to them.

The best we can do is convince people around us to turn them off.

3. I think you missed the propoganda hook to the question
When little timmey threw his hook it was for those that had seen UFO's. That might actually be a good number. Most people don't really pay attention to the world around them. Some people, depending on the community or profession they live in would never admit what they might see.

The real hook is that just bringing up UFO's will put DK in the wacko column for people who have dulled their brain by not using it. Those who don't think will equate admitting a real life experience to, a belief in the extreme view of anyone who even talks about it. That 33-80% number jives with numbers I've seen for people who "believe" in UFO's. Of the pilots and professional observers I've known, probably 5% saw something up close and personal that they couldn't explain.

Just asking the question said more than anything else. It was a BS question meant to take down a candidate that would be a big threat to the corporate world. It had nothing to do with policy, qualifications, or past administrative decisions and their results. It was a take-down punch directed at the less informed and mentally agile. (you know, those people who don't read or think, and just absorb and dissipate the trash thrown at them from tv and radio) Even if only 10% of the people who saw the debate (or any additional news coverage)relate DK to UFO's in a belief perspective. That hurts, but it's still a good perspective.

4. No, he said 14% say they have seen UFO's. Big difference.

Here is a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G980aLrAwoM

Fourteen percent - mostly men and lower-income people - say they have seen a UFO. Among them is Danny Eskanos, 44, an attorney in Palm Harbor, Fla., who says as a Colorado teenager he watched a bright light dart across the sky, making abrupt stops and turns.

7. Well then it's chickenshit semantics and Dennis should've been
more prepared with his response. He could've hit a homer just by saying "believe in" rather than "seen". Bummer.

5. Well news today from the M$M is mostly bullshit in one form or another.
Some people (like DK) are not loved by the corporations who pay Tim's salary. These debates are facetime jokes. Get a look at the newest model coming out soon!
