OK, could I have a bigger headache right now? Uh......
NO!

Anyone have suggestions concerning what I should do about my Mac Mini not booting up?

It froze up on something. I tried to force quit all of the open applications, but force quit didn't work.

Then out of frustration, turned the power off.

When the power came back on, it decided it was not going to boot, so it just hangs and hangs.

At the very least, I want to rescue my 2 gigs of MP3's.

I just can't figure out what hung it up.

Any thoughts :)

1. If you can read your own post
and this reply, you'll probably be all right.

5. It's how you terminate a program that isn't responding on a mac.
I can't think of anything close to it on Windows to give you for a reference. Maybe it's like closing a program down via Task Manager...kind of.

8. After a power outage when the same thing happened to me -- it was essentially
DEAD, I was instructed to take out the battery for about 5 minutes and replace it then turn it back on. It worked and it's worked for me since.

I also unplugged the power while I was doing this.

I have a laptop so I'm not sure if it'll work on a Mini-mac or if the battery thing even applies, but just wanted to post on the off chance that it'll help.

Good luck!

There's also a Mac forum on DU - you can find it in the Lobby.

11. LOL. It is true that I don't have AVSW installed on my Mac.
My Republican brother-in-law who works IT for Kaiser assured me I didn't need AV.

And I believe him because why would a Republican try to.....uhhhhhhh! Dammit!! Republicans. :banghead:

12. **I don't know what's more irritating right now**
The fact that I cannot get my main computer to start up, or the fact that I just spilled a brand new box of 500 q-tips all over the goddam bathroom floor.
