Let's see...BREAKING NEWS: Pakistan could go nuclear on us or...Oprah's News Conference
Arrests of 'dissidents' wholesale in Pakistan or....Brian Williams' hosting of SNL
Possible bombing of Iran or....Leno/Letterman don't have writers (Oh the HUMANITY!)

BTW...where's Joey on the 'Green Day' on Morning Joe? MIA...

1. What no Britney?
Edited on Mon Nov-05-07 08:17 AM by maine_raptor
Ah, THAT'S how they're going green, they're cutting down on the number of Britney stories. Why that alone could save Greenland,

As for Joe........my guess is passed out under the desk looking up Mikia's skirt.

4. As Long As They Say So
I laugh when I hear CNN attempt to laud itself as "the network America trusts"...I stopped trusting those propagandists years ago, and I think they use it just to try to convince themslves. MSNBC...with the exception of Olbermann...isn't much better.

It's cheap, controlable news. It's easier to cover a hurricane or Brittney than to dig into a serious topic or issue or spend the time and money in some serious journalism. Most the bobbleheads on the air didn't get there for their writing skills, but how nice they look in front of a camera. "Conventional Wisdom" is considered "news" and as the basis of comparison on most stories...thus instead of honest reporting, we get a narrative based on right wing talking points.

Here's a definitely shout-out of support for the WGA. Here's hoping they strangle the large corporates so they settle quickly. While I'll miss seeing new TDS, Colbert, Letterman, Conan and others, I'm solidly behind the people who do the real heavy lifting on these shows and are just asking for fair compensation for their work.

5. Well said.
:applause:

Hollywood and now the entertainment corporations have a long history of mistreating writers.

The fact that such a small number can paralyze several large business entities speaks to their unique talents.

6. I've been sworn off cnn since early in July this year
never much liked msnbc excepting for KO that is. I've saved some money, albeit very little, but some money by turning the tv off after the wife goes to work.
