Feinstein's answer
"Feinstein, D-Calif., said her vote for Muksaey's confirmation came down in part to practicality. If Mukasey's nomination were killed, she said, Bush would install an acting attorney general not subject to Senate confirmation and make recess appointments to fill nearly a dozen other empty jobs at the top of Justice"

---------------------------------
Will she tire of Bush's strong arming our government enough to vote to Impeach?
Will Schumer?
A NO vote from any of our Dems tells me that they don't mind leaving 'we the people' to fend for ourselves.

2. Indeed. Why did Schumer want Mukasey from the beginning?
What is in this for Schumer? I just don't understand the mentality here.
Does Schumer truely believe Mukasey will err on the side of American justice, over Bush's corpo-neo-fascist government?

8. If these wimpy-ass pussy fuckhead Democrats would actually PLAY THE GAME...
...then Bush wouldn't have the opportunity for a recess appointment. Sacrifice your next vacation, use Parliamentary procedure, do SOMETHING. ANYTHING. It seems our only strategy in fighting Bush is hope and wishing.

No and no.

Senators cannot vote to impeach. Only member of the House can.

13. Yep , sorry I'm not thinking clearly right now. Theres' a reason why I cannot
comprehend their decision to vote Mukasey. Because I cannot possibly think like a fuc*in fascist Republican.

Its come down to black & white. Either your for fascism or you're against it. Simple.

during Nixon. That congress was a good one. This one sucks.

12. So rather than standing up in opposition, she would rather kneel in submission.
Great, just fucking great. Would Bush have had an acting AG, sure, he also would have done recess appointments. But by forcing him to take those actions, you would have given a loud voice to the country that opposition is alive and well in the halls of Congress, and your hands would be clean. However the message that you send with your vote to approve is that there is no opposition in Congress, that the Democrats are neutered, stifled, whimpering little yes critters that actively aid and abet this criminal administration. Diane, by your actions you are approving every single criminal act that comes out of the Dept. of Justice from here on out.

It is past time for the Dems to stop cowering in a corner. They have the people behind them, they have the power they need, it is time for them to do either one of two things, stand up and fight, or get the hell out of the way and let the people of this country take their government and country back from a gang of thieves and murderers.

Cannot say it better than this.
Congress members can no longer say they are on our side and vote to strengthen Bush.
Its Either, Or.
Now get the hell off the fence.

17. Bush is the President, he holds the trump card here
and what Feistein is saying is exactly true. Not to mention that he's perfectly happy with the acting AG, who is currently impeding investigations into contractor fraud in Iraq.

Do you have a counter strategy for this? Other than impeachment, which isn't going to happen anytime soon, if at all?
