I've not decided yet to support him as my first choice for president. But he deserves a pat on the back from all of us, and a way to tell the rest of the field where their priorities SHOULD BE!

4. That was completely by accident! Seriously!
Perhaps fate is speaking to us here too!

It looks like the new recorded vote is going the same way! And with even even more extreme divergence! Hoyer must be flexing his muscles behind the scenes and saying "vote my way or else" to the Dems now! Sheesh!

3. I like Dennis Kucinich
but I for one can't afford to throw money away on a candidate we all know we not win the nomination.

7. That's exactly what I just did.
Wish we could raise 333 million for him right away to show the rest of the Dem leadership just how much we appreciate Dennis bringing this to the floor for us. They'd better take this ball and run with it!

9. This isn't only to express support for Kucinich himself, but the way we want representation...
If enough of us donate TODAY (whether or not we are supporting other candidates for president), we are sending a HUGE message to those running that America feels that this issue is important to them, and that they want our government to do something about it! If you wait until March, it won't mean anything in that context, unless you are truly there just to support Kucinich's campaign.

If I later decide to support Kucinich's campaign as my first choice for president, I might give him more money then. But for now, even as a person that would probably vote for Gore or Edwards, I feel it necessary to send Dennis and everyone else a message!

11. And it would be the day after the 3rd anniversary the Supremes dismissed Sibel's case...

... as is noted in my sig.

Though I'm not sure the number crunchers at Dennis' site would get those bits of significance, some of which are unconnected to what he's doing too.

19. I probably should have too earlier today. Went directly to his site.
That does sound like a good idea though. It will definitely show where he's made his mark on the voters.

17. We need to send a HUGE message to the Democrats by giving Dennis a HUGE boost in $$$$$ so he can
flaunt it in their faces! What if he raised 5, 6, 7 million in one day like Ron Paul just did? Do you think the Dems would care? Would it wake them up?

If you donate, do it through DU....link is at the top of the GD page.

18. all well and good to give donations to Dennis he deserves it
now watch the right spin this to death, like oh, his donations for his campaign are going up, they did the same thing to Edwards when Elizabeth revealed her cancer, they can just go to hell, because Dennis was asked about this resolution and why now? the media will spin themselves silly with this. Spin away, but Dennis is sticking up for the American people and Constitution and I believed him when he said it.

20. Just donated $3.33 and $7.99 for his two impeachment resolutions
...as suggested by CorpGovActivist. (Or -- they're the same resolution, just with different numbers?) Anyway, I'll give DK more as we can afford it. It's not a waste of money to me seeing as he's the ONLY candidate worthy of my support.

22. I think that's cool. The main thing is that he can tell what's motivating us giving him money!
So that he gets the message he's doing the right thing. Hopefully some people can shell out $333.00 (and $799) here too. But that's a bit much for me as well.

I think for me its a tradeoff between someone I trust to put representing people in front of representing corporate special interests, vs. someone I think will win if they run in the general election. The last thing I want to happen is to do the Ralph Nader maneuver and get someone else like Bush in charge again.

I believe Gore, Edwards, and Kucinich all are good in the first respect, and Kucinich has some added attraction for his efforts for things like impeachment too, but Gore would be the most likely to win from my perspective, which is why I'm holding out for him running.

What I'm trying to do is try to take down the corporatists and finding the best way to do that.

I'm sure that Dennis will play a big role in what I'd like to see happen with that, whether he is president, or in the president's cabinet, etc.

I have really nothing against him personally. As was said on another thread, he's kind of like the "Jessie Jackson" of this election, in that as long as he's in the race, he keeps the other candidates honest and focused on issues that are important to many of us Democrats. Even if he doesn't win, he can still help us in the long run by staying in the race. That's precisely what sending money to him after this vote will tell the other candidates. That THIS is the kind of leadership we expect out of them if they want our vote.

I'm also trying to appeal to others that might be thinking towards Edwards, Gore, or someone else, that it is OK, to send Dennis money in this case, even if you still will continue to support another candidate, in that this sends a message to all of them what you want done if you want impeachment and restoring the rule of law.
