Who handles Blackwater's health care?
When the Blackwater soldiers with TBI come back home, who is going to pay for their medical care and where are they going to go?

5. There are ethical and practical reasons for everyone in the U.S. to care.
Having severely ill people with no health insurance is a burden on everyone and everything in the country. However, the numbers of Blackwater mercenaries are tiny compared to the veterans who also are not receiving decent health care. And those numbers, in turn, are tiny compared to the tens of millions of Americans - many of the children - with no access to decent health care.

We'll all pay and pay and pay - in ethical and monetary terms - for this selfishness for a long time to come.

2. actually the majority of them do so themselves, they are ...
... according to Eric the Prince considered contractors or sub-contractors. As such Blackwater is not responsible for shit! The intelligence of the average B;ackwater employee is not all that high. As if evidence to the contray even existed.

3. Pretty stupid to expose yourself to something like TBI, and not have
insurance to back you up. That does say something about the intelligence of the people who are taking the money to be mercenaries.

4. Right, they're contract employees - no benefits
the same way it would be with all workers in the US if the GOP could have their way.

6. The same way it is with a lot of workers in the U.S., thanks to the GOP.

7. most likely, they get none
They're "contract" employees and not considered statutory employees, so each would have to negotiate with the company on their own to get health insurance.

Maybe their corporate office provides benefits, but who knows?

9. Defense Base Act insurance
Any outfit contracting with the U.S. is required to carry DBA insurance coverage.

DBA acts like worker’s compensation insurance, paying for hospital care and making disability payments if applicable, as well as providing a death benefit that usually works out to about $50,000 per year tax-free.
