I mean, the guy has never been that healthy and it would allow the repukes to appoint the person they would want to be the nominee for 2008.

17. Opps!! Sorry about that.
Off to the Hauge then! Probably not welcome there either...even war criminals don't want to associate with him.

8. That was my thought watching those votes
no matter what happens, this is the beginning of the end for him. Regardless of the GOP posturing, I think they would like throw him overboard. He hurts the party too much. The only thing stopping them is fear of his retribution.

10. I read somewhere that he still considered himself to be a potential candidate
for president in 2008 up to a few years ago. The selling point was that the Bush* policies would continue to be observed, so that, in effect, there would be a Bush* presidency to last for 12 years. However, since he was considered to be the major architect of that policy, he would be rewarded by being president for one additional term.

14. If he retires, he can be arrested in foreign countries for war
crimes, I believe. It would put a damper on his little covert trips to the oil kingdoms he's been known to travel to to visit his money. No AF1 either to do so. He may not want to retire for that reason, but what do I know?

18. It's not as simple to resign as you think. Cheney is the pusher -he has agreed
to be the person to ensure that the pnac-baron plan goes through - i.e., major gains in the takeover of the world for a few. None of the candidates running could do that like Cheney does.

20. No. Dennis and a few other patriots won't be able to put any
pressure on Cheney. I'm afraid that the Republican strategy to embarrass the Dems will work.
