Jailed Pakistani Dissident: "US Complicit-At Very Least KNEW About It Before It Took Place"
"U.S. Complicit" in Pakistan Suppression Says Jailed Dissident
Posted by Paddy , Brave New Films on November 6, 2007 at 3:00 PM.

This post, written by Paddy, originally appeared on Cliff Schecter's Brave New Films Blog

This was a weird one. It came in on my RSS feed, and when I went to click on it, it was gone. Then I went to the website, and it wasn't there either. I finally found it at Telegraph UK, and I've got to say I'm not surprised.

He wrote: "They are using sheer force against lawyers, human rights organizations, political activists and all genuine opposition leaders are in jail. The police have ransacked my house and ill treated my family members."

...................

"I believe that the Americans are complicit, or at the very least knew about this, before it took place," he wrote.

"They are backing Musharraf as he could never get his way if they were serious about stopping him. Their recent statements represent just a slap on the wrist. The reason he is still getting support from the army is because of US backing."

1. When one of us is vulnerable, we all are.
If they can do it there, they can do it here.

3. For what it's worth, a report from India...
Emergency imposed in Pakistan with Bush nod: Report
http://www.zeenews.com/articles.asp?rep=2&aid=405607&sid=SAS&sname=

Islamabad, Nov 05: Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf proclaimed emergency in the country only after receiving a nod from the Bush Administration, a diplomatic source has claimed.

Though the US was averse to the idea of imposing emergency, it gave the go ahead to Musharraf because of the sporadic violence across the country, especially in the troubled Swat region and other tribal dominant areas, the source further revealed.

The Bush Administration believed that the emergency was necessary to contain rising extremism in the country, The Nation reported.

Another source said that if that were not the case, the Pentagon would not have rushed to announce that the US would continue its military aid to Musharraf regime.

"At this point, the declaration does not impact on our military support for Pakistan's efforts in the war on terror," said Geoff Morrell, the Pentagon press secretary.

5. The US has been holding hands with Pakistan since BCCI made them partners
in the funding of global terror networks and the laundering of big drug money.

Dubai Dollars started BCCI - the biggest terror banking institution, and that SAME Dubai money machine was being granted control of our nation's PORTS not too long ago.

Whatever happened to all those Outstanding Matters listed in that Dec1992 BCCI report, anyway?

6. This is supposed to make us safer from terrorists?
Bush is encouraging the entire world turn against us. Well, most of the world, anyway.

8. Well, powerful people decided they would control the world many decades ago
and now the world is beginning to realize it.

BCCI's revelations should have been dealt with at the time - it was likely our last chance to thwart the fascist agenda. No wonder the powermongers fought against Kerry as hard as they did - he always wanted those books opened for the public.

9. Does anybody honestly think...
that Musharraf would do anything without the Whitehouse's express approval? This is a dry run for what Bush would like to do in the US. Shit, ISI (Pakistan's CIA ) gave Mohammed Atta $100,000. Musharraf is Bushieboy's bitch.
