I am sure glad our media has their priorities in order.
I am so proud of the ability of our media to cover the issues that truly matter in this Presidential debate. What would we do without their amazing in-depth coverage of such crucial issues as haircuts, the pledge of allegiance, UFOs, and tipping waitresses?

I mean honestly, who cares that a bill was just passed recently which sets up a commission to investigate those the government determines to hold an extremist political ideology which could potentially result in someone using force to achieve their goals? It is not like the government would ever abuse the power to label their ideological enemies extremists who just might use force. So we can just ignore HR 1955, because we have more important things to worry about. And besides one of the few members of Congress to vote against that bill claims to have seen a UFO.

Yes Dennis Kucinich was asked at a debate if he had ever seen an unidentified flying object and he said that he did. This is an important news story that must not be ignored! It does not matter that Kucinich never claimed to have seen an alien space craft, he saw something flying in the air that he could not identify so obviously he must be crazy. Isn't everyone aware that anyone who sees something in the sky has to have the ability to identify it? Sure some of those NASA scientists may claim they can not even identify every object they see in the sky either, but what do they know right? Because all those old FOX specials have always told us that unidentified flying objects are alien spacecrafts, well then Dennis Kucinich must believe that too because we all know that Kucinich believes everything FOX tells him.

So yes we need to focus on Kucinich's UFO sighting, but we do not need to focus on the fact that he just introduced an impeachment resolution against Dick Cheney and got the majority of Congress to vote to keep that resolution alive. Who cares about the fact that our Vice President is a criminal who the Congress wants to debate impeaching, it is not like he doesn't put his hand over his heart when he says the pledge of allegiance.

Barack Obama however does not always put his hand over his heart when he says the pledge, and that means he hates America. We need to focus on this issue intensely because there is no more important issue facing this world than how one man positions his hands when the pledge is being recited.

There are other issues we must focus on as well though, like whether or not Hillary Clinton tips well. Don't worry about her ties to the DLC and their corporate dollars and positions favoring cutting aid to the poor through what they call "welfare reform", no that doesn't matter. All that matters is an unverifiable story which claims that Hillary may not have left a tip at one restaurant she dined at. Why focus on the broader issue of our societies commitment to the working poor, when you can debate a he said she said story all night long?

I am so glad to see that we will not be spending this Presidential campaign focusing on such irrelevant issues as the occupation of Iraq, the saber rattling for war in Iran, poverty, global warming, the depletion of our natural resources, equal rights for all, health care, education, or any other of those stupid issues that don't effect any of us.

No we need to focus on the issues that really matter. I heard John Edwards is due for a haircut soon, and we need to ensure that he goes to Cost Cutters next time. The fate of our nation depends on it.

1. Don't forget Poland. I mean...Pakistan.

You fall off the front page fast when you discuss Pakistan.

And let's not even attempt to discuss the latest FCC maneuvers to coddle and protect media owners.

In other words - great post.

2. It really makes you wonder, doesn't it?
What kind of person could be handed a piece of paper to read on air that is loaded with total bullshit...and continue to read it without question? I mean, most of these people don't appear STUPID. I say "most" because the big-haired bimbos peppering MSNBC's morning line-up (I can't even watch CNN anymore, though I assume the latest Barbie & Ken Fox imports are still there) are obviously doing nothing but reading. Literally, just reading the prompters. While these guys really are utterly clueless, and just thrilled to be on television, what is the excuse for the ones who call themselves "journalists?" How can they parrot this absolute utter bullshit day after day without ever saying FUCK IT!?

3. People don't like to hear about the real issues.
People don't want to have to wake up and do the real work. Unfortunately, the audience isn't interested. This is a country that really likes football and sitcoms, and gets angry if you take their toys away.
