It's tough, these days, being a president. There's world issues to worry about, usually a family life to juggle and now - thanks to that Vladimir Putin - a buff body to maintain.

So it's understandable that Nicolas Sarkozy required a little help to achieve the last. Earlier this month, France's president was photographed taking his tummy rolls for a paddle in a canoe.
