I am not worried about Huckabee as the Repub Nominee. Here's why.....
Right now Huckabee comes across as amusing, and most interviews are not about any particular position he takes --rather they all tend to focus on his moving up in the polls.

Just wait until the interviewers begin asking questions about his positions. The truth is that Huckabee is one of the most rigid Repubs you are ever likely to meet. On most issues he has a position that allows for no compromise whatsoever, and many of those positions are not in keeping with the beliefs of the majority of voters.

If Huckabee were to be interviewed extensively his numbers would likely nosedive.

1. Plus, as Dan Bartlett said, his name is too hick
Bartlett: just say "President Huckabee" a few times - you'll get it

2. I hope you're right.
I'm not worried about him as the nom, but I am worried about a Romney/Huckabee ticket.

4. Have you looked at all the issues Romney has 'flipped flopped' on? He'll have problems...
I think the Mormon issue will hurt him with Evangelicals even though the RW Conservative Fundie Leaders are trying to rehabilitate him with their followers. It goes against everything they have been teaching for decades.

However, the issues Romney has 'flipped flopped' on run the entire spectrum. IN a General Election Romney will thoroughly examined on all his different positions(ie. abortion rights, gay rights, etc.) and there is plenty of evidence in the public domain to use against him.

If Romney puts Huckabee on the ticket as his VP, Huckabee is going to have problems reconciling Romney's various positions with his very rigid positions. I don't see them running well as a team.

5. I would disagree a little--it's not his positions that would give pause--
I'm not sure he's all that wedded to anything except anti-gay, anti-abortion stuff. It's the fact that he's really not all that sharp or well-versed when it comes to almost any topic. He blathers AROUND topics really well, instead of showing any sort of mastery or deep knowledge about anything. For example, Rudy knows law pretty well, having been a United States attorney. Biden clearly knows foreign policy. Mittens knows about business and economics. McCain knows about military affairs and the inner workings of government. Hillary knows domestic issues like the back of her hand. Obama knows foreign policy and Constitutional law. Huckabee knows...the Bible. And weight loss. I haven't heard him expound on anything that leads me to believe he's anything but a lightweight. Mostly, he talks somewhat crazy, and no one but me seems to notice or care. He told Chris Matthews that teenagers in gang-ridden areas should carry concealed weapons to cut down on violence, for example. Now, if anyone else said this, this would be a huge deal.
