stopped by the local elementary school yesterday to pick up some paperwork from a teacher friend and overheard staff wondering what time the assembly started. I asked about the assembly and was told the US Marines were having some guys come in and talk about being in the marines as part of a "career day" kind of event. I asked what other career days had been held featuring what other careers and was told this was the only one they've had. walked through the auditorium on the way out of the school and there was a table with some boots, a marine helmet, and other paraphanalia on it as part of the marine pitch.

students were required to attend this event.
