Pet peeve..."I approve this message"
WTF??? I do not know how this idiotic saying caught on. If you are in the freaking ad saying something, unless I am supposed to worry about whether or not you are real, I would think you approve of what you are saying! If i am worried that you are not really yourself as portrayed on the TV, why would I believe you when you say "I approve this message"????? I hate it... I just hate it. so stupid stupid stupid...

2. It's an advertising requirement.
They're required to indicate personal approval.

3. It's required as proof that that politician endorsed the advertisement
Think about it. It makes sense.

4. It caught on because it is the law. It lets you know which ads were actually sponsored
by a candidate.

6. It keeps yer opponent from creating a fake ad saying you endorse wild, crazy, stupid things.
tho I don't know why they can't just steal the 'i approved this message' from their other ads.
