So I go to Starbucks this morning
and as I'm leaving I notice a large sticker on the door, that says security is provided by DIEBOLD. I know there is more than one reason to boycott Starbucks, but THAT is my personal reason why I won't be back. I will also send them a nice letter telling them why I won't be back.

Will You Stop Using ATM's Also??
I think Diebold is one of the largest providers of ATM's in the country. Perhaps you should check with your bank.

6. That would be hard
But I would try. I'll check with my credit union and see what they use.

1. Thats not Starbucks, that the franchise.
No other starbucks would have the same security (unless they do).
i.e. its not a corporate starbucks security, its the security that particular franchise owner decided to install.

15. Starbucks isn't franchised
Edited on Thu Nov-15-07 04:52 PM by tammywammy
They're all company owned. They do licensing agreements, hence the Starbucks in Targets and airports.

They probably have a Diebold safe in the store.

Regardless, I haven't stopped my use of ATMs either and I'm not a regular Starbucks customer either.

8. So this man goes to this Starbucks...
Edited on Thu Nov-15-07 04:03 PM by KansDem
It's late at night and he checks the door, which is unlocked. He doesn't realize the store is closed and an employee forgot to lock the front door. So he goes inside thinking it might still be open. A few seconds later, several police cars race up to the front and several officers jump out. When they enter the store and see the man standing at the counter, they ask him, "Are you the only one in here?" The man replies, "I must be. I thought it was open for business since the door was unlocked." Sensing relief in the police officers, the man asks, "Why so many police officers for a false alarm?" The police officer says, "Well, Diebold security informed us there were five 'George W. Bushes' in here."

on edit: :D

17. Thanks!
It was one of those moments you read a news report and a story just pops into your mind. And the name "Diebold" has so many possibilities...!

9. They also took the local free independent paper out of stores
(The Shepherd Express) to replace it with the commercial rags - and it appears they're doing that in other cities.

Sorry if this is old news to some of you, but as I have never been in a Starbucks and don't really 'follow them', it was news to me.

10. These people could use a little love too-
Apparently sexism is okay when you're talking politics.
Can't wait for the tiny inflatable Ghouliani nuts,
pump'em full of hot air and they appear gigantic, yet they contain nothing of value.

Just in time for Christmas!
