Tennessee City Plans To Ban Indoor Furniture Outdoors
Tennessee City Plans To Ban Indoor Furniture Outdoors

Murfreesboro, TN (AHN) - Residents in Murfreesboro may soon be prevented from reclining on their sofas outdoors, if the city officials have their way.

The council has approved a proposed ban preventing people from using their inside furniture outdoors.

News Channel 5 reports Murfreesboro Vice Mayor Chris Bratcher saying: "We want to make sure, as a city, that we maintain the integrity of a neighborhood and property values for our residences."

"If you allow these things to take place in a neighborhood, we found that history tells us soon after we let a neighborhood start to decline it actually increases the crime in the neighborhood."

2. Oh, well, I guess they'll just take that back row of seats
out of the old Momvan they use to haul firewood and sit on those on a fine fall evening.

5. There was some talk of that here in Columbus
But I don't know what ever happened. Seems that down near campus they burn them in the street after OSU games.

6. Where I live, you can get a citation for having indoor furniture such
as couches and chairs on your front porch. They give you so many days to remove it or they will come and remove it and charge you for their time.

8. Reminds me of Fahrenheit 451
First furniture on the front porch, and then the front porch...

9. Is this a stab at the homeless communities?
I don't know the size of the town or the homeless population, but here (under the expressways) there is some inside furniture outside - not in plain site though.
