Ted Stevens is having a meltdown on CSPAN2 because
he has to stay and do a Saturday vote "designed to embarrass those of us who are up for re-election." Old Ted may give himself a stroke now.

16. He probably would have if he weren't up for re-election, which
apparently his big beef. He thinks that Reid is trying to embarrass him and others like him.

26. Like he needs Reid to embarrass him, like he doesn't do that all by himself.
Them bitching about being in session on a Saturday hurts the troops and emboldens the terrorists.

24. Uncle Ted's luck is running out......

He's always slid right through without any problem here.. The entire state refers to him as "Uncle Ted" because he's brought home more pork than any other U.S. Senator in any state--- anywhere.

But he's had some problems lately, and you can easily tell by listening to him that his age is definitely affecting him big time.

His son, Ben Stevens, was a state senator here until about a month ago. He's a suspect in a VERY serious FBI case that is currently ongoing.

Depending on how that case turns out, I'm not sure if the old man will be able to take it.

Even if he does stick around and runs again in 2008, what it's going to boil down to is how good of a candidate we put up against him.

His effectiveness (even to Rethugs here) to bring home all that pork is toast now...

If an Alaska Democrat like Ethan Berkowitz --> runs (he's respected in all political parties here) ... he could take out the old fart.

I mean you are there as a representitive of the people. It is not some job you are entitled to.
