Police: Gas price fight ends in death
RoNeisha Mullen / Special to The Detroit News

DETROIT -- An argument over gas prices has left one man dead and another in police custody. The shooting happened at the Marathon station on the corner of Springwells and Fort Street in southwest Detroit.

Police said the owner of a BP gas station on that same corner confronted the Marathon owner around 10:30 a.m. for lowering his price on a gallon of unleaded gasoline to $2.93 per gallon -- three cents less than the BP station.

The confrontation then escalated into a physical fight with employees from both stations involved. One man was hit with a baseball bat.

Police said the 51-year-old owner of the Marathon station then pulled out a gun and shot the owner of the BP station.

5. So I heard a comedienne recently say this:
"Our president is a Texas oil man and we are paying $3.00 a gallon for gas, We are retarded!"

I guess that sums it up, does it not?

7. Gas was a buck fifty when Bill C punched out his timecard in January 01.
$1.50. Or $149.9.

BTW, the genius who figured out that .9 thing should get the lower bunk in Cheney's prison cell.

6. Blood for oil on the home front.
Sad and ridiculous. Human life is infinitely more valuable than gasoline. What's the matter with these people?! :(
