Weepy Boehner breaks down again on House floor

Weepy Boehner breaks down again on House floor.Last night during the House floor debate on the Iraq redeployment legislation, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) nearly broke down in tears. Boehner paused, choked up, and his voice wavered as he tried to get out this sentence: “For my kids and their kids, success in Iraq is critically important.” Watch it:

(site has video)

As ThinkProgress previously noted, Boehner teared up in May and also in February during the Iraq debates.

2. Boehner is a crusader
and believes we're doing God's work in the Mideast. He cries because he's unstable, delusional and really truly thinks Democrats are from the Devil.

3. He just doesn't understand a world which doesn't blindly follow
along behind all the Bush/RNC propaganda as it use to do.

It used to be so easy for him. Now he is so confused.

So he sobs.

7. Exactly....Another Authoritarian "Good vs Evil" Con, unable to see the world's complexities....
Unfortunately, that seems to be the whole of the Republican Party these days.

4. He and Voinovich are twins separated at birth.
They cry because they know that they are doing a bad thing. Childlike and evil at the same time. Peace, Kim

5. I think it's a combination of frustration and rage
because I think he truly bought into Delay's fantasy of a permanent GOP majority in Congress. Now that we the people have taken that away from him, it's just not much fun any more. Not only is the poor blubbering baby working longer hours, he's having to accommodate people who don't buy a word of his bullshit.

I understand where he's coming from, the big wuss, but I find it very difficult to summon much compassion for him. Bad Buddhist.

I think the wave of retirements we're seeing among previously powerful GOPs are a symptom of this. Any one of them who has been assured a lucrative lobbyist or consulting job has already announced. The rest are still looking.

Evenutally, they'll leave to probate wills in Podunk. If these overgrown two year olds can't have everything their own way, they'll stamp their feet, burst into tears, and hold their breaths until they turn blue. Then they'll leave.

6. Boehner isn't Delay, he's just as bad but Delay would have never let them see
him break down.

13. I'm sure its PTSD
from his vast military experience:

Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, signed up for the Navy, but after eight weeks of training was discharged, honorably, because of a bad back

17. He's probably crying because he's so damned stupid.
He also seems so shifty, so untrustworthy, so sneaky, so unable to tell the truth. What's wrong with that guy?

It seems so doubtful he could find steady employment, if it weren't for politics.

Wow! I just remembered seeing Boehner do this before, and looked it up. From the same site:
John Boehner Breaks Down Again, Weeps Openly On House Floor During Iraq Debate
Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) broke down on the House floor today, sobbing uncontrollably as he urged his colleagues to vote in favor of the $100 billion Iraq war spending bill.

“Members on both sides of the aisle feel differently about our mission in Iraq and our chances of success there,” Boehner said, pausing to compose himself. As he continued, Boehner began to weep openly, crying out: “After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to stand up and take them on? When are we going to defeat them?”

In mid-February Boehner wept as he spoke about the need for a “solemn debate.” He then went to the House floor and proclaimed that escalation opponents were taking the “bait” of al Qaeda and using Iraq to “divide us here at home.”
(snip/...)

18. How old are your kids? If they are fighting age, get them over there
in place of those who want this war over so their kids can come home. If your kids are too young, then you need to volunteer to go. I hate to tell you this, but in most of our little black books your kids are not more important than anyone else's.
