Given the unsuccessful attempts by recent third-party candidates; if Hillary survives the primary process and secures our party's nomination, what will you do? Vote Green? Independent? Libertarian? Write-in the name of the Democrat mostly ideologically aligned with your views? Vote for the Republican candidate in protest? Sit out the election? Other?

59. Yes, if she won the nomination I would vote for Hillary.

Then I would prepare for a lot of triangulation Clinton style.

I swear, if the elimination of cockroaches, or lint appeared a serious political issue the right wing would exploit it as much as they could, so the Republican party could leverage lint and cokroaches into huge tax cuts and cuts on social programs.

As far as I see, the current noneconomic issues that the fake Christians concern themselves with look to me like the concern over cockroaches and lint.

If Hillary would stop pandering to Nazis in the Republican party I would have voted for her in the primary for 08, but right now Al Gore appears my first choice, then John Edwards and then Barack Obama.

I don't hate her. I think she's very intelligent and diligent, but I'm not quite so sure she's the best person the Democrats can put forward.

Since I feel that way, I'll probably wait and see how she is fairing in my state. If it's close (sadly, I don't think it will be. I think she'll lose by more than Kerry), then I'll go ahead and vote for her in hopes that she's able to turn my state blue - a feat that hasn't occurred since her husband ran for office. If it's as I suspect and she's behind the Republican nominee by 15 or more percentage points, I may just write in the person I think should have gotten the nomination to begin with.

(See, I actually "get" how the Electoral College works. My ONE vote won't make a difference if she's 15 or 20 percentage points behind in my state; therefore, voting my conscious is preferable to placing an empty vote that will be eaten up by our Hart Interactive machines).

27. Still undecided.
Struggling with the "rip the band-aid off quickly" theory. If Senator Clinton, or some other corporatist, gets the nod, they will naturally do nothing to make things better, only make it hurt a little less, and allow the perpetrators to claim that it was "them too", or "see nobody can do anything about this mess", thus avoiding the responsibility for this criminal enterprise.

If we (Democrats) want to claim to be better than the re:puke:s, we have to be better than the re:puke:s.

64. Bingo
The leaders of our party have turned into libertarians to an extent. They appeared to have gone along with the privatization of the medicare drug discount.

However on social issues our party members act more hands off as a rule.

So we have 2 choices: A party with religious nuts and corporate toadies and our party mostly hands off on social issues and crporate toadies.

With 3's and 8's.

But not without a good primary fight. She needs to get it right on the war.

I think her statement on Iran was too bellicose. It shows me that her campaign is too worried about her being perceived as militarily weak.

She needs to get strong on peace.

But yeah, if it's her or  McCave or Roody or Mitt or Tommy or Dunkin' or Huck , hell yeah I'll vote for her because I'll have no choice.

Their lineup is LAUGHABLE. It's a JOKE.

I will not vote for Hillary. If you must know why, you'll find the answer in the vast difference between her and Kucinich, the candidate I'm supporting. If Hillary wins the candidacy, I'll either sit the election out or vote third party, I haven't decided yet. I'm an independent and she will not get my support, period.

Been there done that, got the frikkin endless war. Not even a T-Shirt except for this one...

The couching has been done...repeatedly.

The point is, this argument has been raised, discussed, toiled over for the last six years.

The hypothetical game of "what will you do if" is akin to "It's been said that..." when pseudo-journalists want to create false scenarios.

Let the cards be dealt first. Then we can all play and know what we have.

What iffing is just a grand glorious circle j*(& of universal proportions....and irrelevant.

If she runs against Pataki in 2008 -- I would probably vote for her -- because Pataki and Clinton would be close in the Northeast.

However, if she runs against Jeb Bush or another repuke, no -- because she would win in the Northeast, so my vote won't count anyway.

61. Rejecting Clinton would mean rejecting the lesser of two evils, if only she were evil
Senator Clinton is a fence straddler. I want a candidate who knows how to cut deals, but I prefer someone with a little stronger set of core values. If it comes down to her and a Republican, only a fool or a conservative would help the Republican. A vote cast for a third party candidate that might otherwise have gone to Clinton counts as half a vote for the Republican.

I will vote, no questions asked, for whoever our party nominates. Anyone who answers different does not deserve to post on this board. I don't advocate running them off. But they don't understand (or at least don't respect) the reason this board is here.

75. yes
she'd be a good President, no doubt. But its simple for me. I have no desire to defend her in debate and no desire to re-live the Clinton wars. I'm just plain tired of all the proclaimed "Clinton debacles" that will have to be debated once again on the internet forums, on the cable news cycles, and with conservative friends and family. Now, I know that the GOP should not be allowed "to assign" our candidates, and just because they tear down Clinton, doesn't mean they won't do it to any other candidate. Look at Kerry, they made a war hero into a traitor and coward. They will lie about any Democrat whether it be Edwards, Richardson, Obama, Vilsack.... So, yes, we need to fight for whoever we nominate. But if I'm gonna fight for somebody, let it be for someone who represents the future. Thats one reason I support Obama. I simply don't have to travel back to the 90's (of which I was too young) and instead can concentrate on the real issues as opposed to the supposed Clinton scandals.

77. If the choice is between her and someone like Romney or Brownback
It's an absolute no brainer, I couldn't take another 4 years of Republican rule in this country and I wouldn't let my moral high horse be part of a Democratic loss.

82. Experience shows that a vote for a Clinton is a vote for the next Bush
Edited on Sat Feb-17-07 12:50 AM by JackRiddler
Bush, Clinton, Bush Jr., HR Clinton... Enough. Clinton the Bill, had he been interested, was in a position to throw open the documents on the original Bush crimes (which were no less obvious than the current regime's), appoint a prosecutor and see the entire Iran/Contra death squad savings-and-loan plunder crew into lifetime imprisonment. He didn't, and that's why there is a Bush II regime, starring the same war criminals as from the Bush I regime. Meanwhile, Clinton's going to the Superbowl with Bush I.

They are the same shit. One fattens you up and makes you feel good and fills up the treasury with your taxes, sucker, so that the other can frighten you and plunder that wealth, until it's time for the next Mr. Soft (in this case Ms. Soft) to bring "healing" and "good times."

No justice for the Bush crimes is merely the guarantee that the next Bush (under whatever name) will follow.

And HRC is the guaranteed no-justice candidate. She got my vote once. She used her vote to enable the rape of Iraq. Never again.

84. I will vote for the most progressive, and ethical, anti-war candidate on the ballot.
"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all." --Thomas Jefferson to Francis Hopkinson, 1789.

"Were parties here divided merely by a greediness for office,...to take a part with either would be unworthy of a reasonable or moral man." --Thomas Jefferson to William Branch Giles,
