  A lot of that going on tonight. Inappropriately. It's when you equate one thing with another so that if a person or idea meets one set of criteria they are also lumped in with another set of criteria that might not apply to them at all.

  Stop it! You'll wind up hating people you barely know just because they said X. But, through conflation (and also through logical fallacies- but that's another post) you take it to mean that they meant Y and Z too. But they probably didn't. Really

Do not make Bob angry.
Do not conflate.
