I have not had good things to say about the American officer

corps generally - I was wrong.

I have come to expect excellence from all our officers - and that is not realistic.

I understand this.

But on the whole - they really are that good.

They executed a manuever - they knew was nothing more than tactical - and they did it so well - god you have to respect that.

It was a tactic - not a strategy - it can't work in the end - the "surge" - but boy, they really did a good job.

Kudos - I am glad you are ours - we all know this can't work - but you guys did really, really well.

I have been over the months so critical - I know I shouldn't have been. SO I am just apologizing.

I feel bad that I was so harsh - Cause I know they know - and to the extent they could - they said so. They are doing what they were ordered to do, Quite well. I shouldn't have come down like 10 tons of shit - doesn't change the result in the end -

14. Tom - I just wanted to get my conscience clear -

I once condemned the entire officer corp - I was wrong, some of them are ok - and I didn't want to feel bad about it.

It is nothing more than me wanting to feel ok about that.

They are not 100% assholes - just 90%.

I feel better already.

That is important to me. Doesn't have to be to you.

The tactic will fail - but they really did ok - and I shouldn't have judged them. They just execute - and they did better than anyone could reasonably expect,
