Concerning Scott McClellan's disclosure...
Will someone be kind enough to explain what it really means?
I would love to be able to call my scumbag republic senators tomorrow and ask them why they still walk lockstep with this lying sack of shit resident we have in the White House.
Does the information disclosed today by Scotty McLiarPants give me any ammunition?

1. According to Puffy, the Plame coverup was under the direct authority of...
...Bush** and Cheney**. The have been finally directly implicated in a felony.

2. McClellan's book will prove that Bush is a liar.
Edited on Tue Nov-20-07 11:43 PM by MrModerate
According to the media, this is old news and hardly worth mentioning. It's not as if there have been any *consequences* of Bush's lying, after all.

The administration will pretend that McClellan has said nothing and the media and the Democratic leadership will go along with it.

3. Timing is everything
The question for me is: why is this being revealed now? What's in it for Scotty beyond a clear conscience? If that were important to him in the first place, he never would have went along with Bush & Cheney.

Are the Republicans trying to salvage something in the upcoming election by throwing Bush and Cheney under the bus?

4. the only thing that the public release gives is...
...the implied POSSIBILITY of a Cheney/Bush involvement. What it does provide though is sufficient grounds for Fitzgerald(the spec pros) to reopen his investigation. It also is sufficient for either Conyers or Leahy or both to open hearings and issue subpoenas, the first would be for the entire manuscript, the second fro McClellan himself. However, Dodd may have provided the impetus fro an escape 'loophole' today by demanding Mukasey open a DoJ investigation, which would effectively allow Conyers and Leahy to avoid opening hearings. I cannot explain Dodds reasoning. For if the DoJ has the evidence and the testimony then they control what is made public.

It's a puzzlement as the King of Siam was want to say.

5. I wonder...
Is this revenge backed by his mother, Carole 4-names, who broke the Texas budget to give Bush the funds for the infamous tax cut and expected something in return - like support for the governorship of Texas? Instead, Perry has vetoed enough bills and now has a chance at a vice-presidency with a legacy of millions in the black in the Texas budget - on the backs of the poor (but what R is concerned with that?)

If * had supported her efforts, this book would have never been written by her son.

He lost his job, she lost the governorship. There is hell to pay. Well, probably not.

8. I'm still at a lost. Is Scott saying the BA knew at the time Iraq had no WMDs -- or...
is Scott saying that what he put out at press briefings was later proven to be wrong?

He claims he was kept in the dark - is this another way of saying he was lied to?

The time line is a bit confusing and leaves a lot of room for everyone.

9. Thanks for the replies, but....
what I am hearing so far is that there is nothing to this can be used to our advantage. I did hear Bill Press say this morning that Fitzpatrick(sp) should go back and indict the entire bunch of them.

10. LIARS LIE about their Lying and everything else
Why would anyone pay any attention to what this LIAR has to say now. The only reason he is making these claims that he was "duped" is to somehow salvage his reputation since he was caught in a bold faced LIE to reporters as was made public in the Libby trial. Scotty has no more credibility now then he did when he was standing up there at that podium Lying to America..
