Whoa! Huckabee: Bush’s role in Plame leak should be ‘investigated.’
Huckabee: Bush’s role in Plame leak should be ‘investigated.’

In an interview on MSNBC’s Hardball yesterday, former Republican Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee called Scott McClellan’s revelation that “the President himself” was involved in the Valerie Plame scandal “stunning.” “They deserve to be thoroughly examined, investigated, and the truth brought to the American people,” he said, adding that President Bush should personally respond to the charges. Watch it/read transcript, plus Plame's response to McClellan’s statement, at link~

1. Huckster saying what he thinks will help him
the only thing that fundie asshole has going for him is the idea that he's some kind of out of the bubble guy that people can relate too. Sounds like the same spin an often failed and bailed out businessman and baseball team owner from Texas used in 2000.

Huckabee, I think, is the most dangerous GOP candidate going right now. He's a fundie nutjob that actually can sound like a nice guy, he terrifies me.

2. That scares me about him, too
he's almost like a much better spoken version of Bush.

7. I've been saying all along that he's the one to watch.
He's got the fundies from the word go, unlike Romney, and his conservative credentials are impeccable, unlike either Guiliani or McCain, and he's far more personable than the actor. He's the dark horse that could upset the entire republican campaign.

Oh, yes, he's also SCARY. A True Believer. Bush with a brain. And being from Arkansas he KNOWS the Clintons and all their strengths and weaknesses - he'd come up with stuff against Hillary that has never seen the light of day before this, I'd bet. He could take her down without breaking a sweat. He'd have a harder time with a couple of the others. If he gets the nod, intead of the Ghoul, it's going to be...interesting.

6. it's better than if he said "we should trust the president"
Of course his motives are political, but still, just sayin'.

Maybe he's opened the door for the other Republican candidates to say the same thing. Which would make it safer for the Republican congresspeople running for re-election to say the same thing, and....
