a Thanksgiving Day reminder of the true meaning of Christmas, circa 2007 A.D. . . .
ya know how you get those advertising inserts with your newspaper? . . .

how on some days it's only one or two, and on others (e.g. Sundays) it might be ten or more? . . .

well, on this glorious Black Friday morning, The Journal News (Westchester/Rockland/Putnam Counties in NY) included 38, count 'em, 38 advertising inserts, from single-page flyers to actual catalogs (76 pages for Macy's, 56 pages for Kohl's, etc.) . . . the entire stack easily measured over a full inch thick! . . .

put me right in the mood for Christmas, let me tell ya . . . "Buy this piece of crap!" . . . "No, buy THIS piece of crap!!" . . . "Hey, MY piece of crap is ON SALE!!!" . . . spiritually uplifting and inspiring, to say the least . . .

makes me wanna reflect on the true meaning of ChristmasUSA2007 (i.e. "The Season of Peace and Giving During Which Retailers Realize 40% of Their Yearly Gross") . . .
