A heartwarming Thanksgiving story...

I hope you all had as great a holiday as we did. My daughter and son-in-law hosted pot-luck dinner this year for both sides of the extended families, probably 50+ throughout the course of the day, all rabidly Democratic. It was a true pleasure.

A photo of my son-in-law's dad, who passed away last week, smiled benificently down upon us all, and I have to pass on this terrific story about him. He has suffered for the past few years from an increasing dementia, which is finally what killed him. Early on in the course of his disease he fell while getting out of bed and hit his head. In determining how seriously he was hurt, Robby asked him the usual questions, "What's your name, where are we, what year is it," etc. and "Who's the president?" While showing some confusion and slowness to answer with the first few questions, when he was asked "Who's the president," he responded quickly, "The Asshole."

That brought down the house. :rofl:

Thanks for sharing and I'm sure your SIL's Dad is in liberal progressive "heaven."

My brother had a stroke in 2003. When he got to the hospital they asked him the usual questions, too. When they asked him to name the President, he said, quite vociferously, "Al Gore."

I just hope it wasn't rethuglicans that were working on him.
