To those who post on other message boards...

How many total assholes and trolls go after you?

I have several.

1. Guy in Georgia, who can ONLY post lame insults, and totally psychotic anti-Clinton (ANY Clinton, including Chelsea,) rants, and lie.

2. Old coot who can only make lame insults, like "You aren't a smart person."

3. Another guy who does nothing but call people a liar, and make lame insults.

4. Weird bitch, (and she's earned that title,) who pretended to be a liberal and then went over to the other side, no doubt after she fell onto her head.

5. Fundy nitwit who blames everything on "the liberals" and "the liberal media" and said he looks forward to roasting marshmallows over us while we're "roasting in Hell."

6. Gut who uses discredited "sources" to try and get the Bush Misadministration off the hook.

7. The "Mad Quoter," who will alter and take real quotes out of context, or simply make them up.
And if he's challenged to back up his bogus "quotes," every single time he runs away like a total coward.
Also thinks "the HOMOS" are hiding under his bed.

(Karlschneider knows who I'm speaking of, he used to delight in making total asses of them.)

These are Bush's "base," who worship the ground the Coward-In-Chief walk on.

Ive said it before. Pick a tv show and join it's board, etc... I did that in 2004 and have been posting with the same people ever since. you would not believe how much misinformation is just floating out there. you have to put up with some chit chat that will make you want to ram your head into a wall, but its nice when you get to be a witness to someone's lightbulb going off.

talking here and only here is kinda like preaching to the choir.

I know what these people think, why they think it and what kind of bumper stickers they put on their shiny SUVs. When a vehicle rockets past me on the road it invariably has a Xian fish symbol and/or a "W" sticker. There's a church on every corner and I'm represented by Kay Bailey Hutchinson and John Cronyn.

There are many reasonable posters, who we have good debates with.

It's these ditwits who keep horning in.

Making outrageous but harmless statements they're sure to get frothy over is always entertaining.

but they've been closed, likely because of the right-wing ranters. My favourite was the self-described "good Christian woman" who believed in God, guns, no gays, totally free enterprise, and genocide. She also believed that the Muslims were out to get her (one wonders what anyone would do with her) and that if you weren't making it financially, it was because you didn't pray hard enough. Or something like that.

Gran was right when she said that there were some really strange folks out there. She didn't tell me, however, that I was going to encounter most of them.

All because I made a post saying O'Reilly was a hack. It was possibly the most hilarious thing I've read on a message board.

I also read a post by one who claimed that he was watching FOX News and the channel kept mysteriously changing to CNN all by itself.

One is Inside Cable news. Its a blog that covers cable news in a very fair way, yet every person except for about three or four are KO hating, Faux/Imus Loving bastards who think I like my GOd KO hate American and should be lynched. Its quite charming.

The other site is espn.com's message boards. There is a lot of crazy right wingers around there, mostly from the South.

The last one though that I hang around is backstreets.com, a Bruce Springsteen site. Its always fun to hear the occasional troll bitch about how Bruce should shut up and sing, because most people over there jump down their throats in an instance.

are just technical and Jeep forums, so I don't have that problem.

But it's only one other forum that I go to, and it's not really political.

But after I googled my handle and found it, and then searched for my handle on that site, I discovered that they Do Not Have Lives!!!

I don't even keep track of them like the OP does, because I don't have the stomach to do it. I pity them, really. They are very sad and hateful people.

They had the gall to critique my spelling and grammar, and compare it to an eighth grader's. My grammar and spelling were perfect in the post they were reading!! :rofl: :rofl:

They can't even operate an apostrophe, for Jeebus' sake. An apostrophe and an "s" really throws them. Or even a word with an "s" on the end -- wow, that is tough to deal with!

Don't know where they got their degrees. Those morans!

Of course they couldn't point out any mistakes. There were none. They don't have any room to talk about misusing the English language.

And essentially a few evil fuckers on there outed my identity and basically started a campaign to smear my name to anyone they could in the area. I was somewhat a public figure in my area so they used that as an excuse to drag mine and my family's name through the mud. Several people on that board probably don't want to run into me at a local bar if I've had a few in me.

Been on many a forum and bulletin board. Always been trolls, always have been, always will be. You have whole groups who troll together.

A lot of people who spend copious amounts of time on line are very depressed often, or have some other ego related issue. Some people are just lonely, and mean. Some are just mean.

At any rate the anonymity of the internet facilitates this. 99.9% would not even consider such behavior in public for fear of getting their face smacked off.

I don't go to conservative sites although my local paper messageboard is infested with them.

But there, it was I that went after them and their "not right in the head" comments! :P

These aren't boards that I'm a member of, just where people have reposed DU stuff. The conservative insults seem pretty lame, and I find they are not always capable of reading sarcasm. As far as the progressive stuff, I read it for the lolz. One of them has a conspiracy theory that I'm actually two other people on this board (one of them tombstoned)!

One of them includes someone who is a serious loony, and keeps posting totally off-topic messages, usually about how evil homosexuality and abortion are. She once posted a link to NAMBLA as an example of what homosexuality will lead to! Oh, and completely pro-Bush of course.

I was once on a board that included some VERY far-right Americans, some of whom basically seemed to want a Christian version of the Taliban. They included some very xenophobic types who hated the UK (we're all a lot of dangerous lefties who don't have enough guns and don't love Bush enough!) and one of them said that Michael Moore should be deported to the UK. And they called the British females on the board 'Limey sluts'. I didn't stay on that board very long.

experienced all of those types and probably a few more that were worse, if that is possible.

I quit because the few die hard bush supporters there were clueless, and it became hopeless.

I was lurking there last week and was surprised to see they were accusing a new poster there of being me with a new identity. That's an old trick of right wingers. They refuse to believe there are more than a few people posting on discussion boards who have a progressive viewpoint.

So I logged on and said hello, no that poster isn't me, but we do happen to agree on most issues. Then I logged off.

The next day I had 10 emails telling me I had responses on that board. And they haven't stopped coming. And today, a week later, they are still arguing about me posting with two different identities.

Bush wants to bomb Iran. Kucinich's impeachment resolution was heard in Congress. McClellan's book is outing the president and VP as the leakers of Plame's identity. And those idiots have spent a week arguing about who is who on that silly board.

Just keep doing your thing and ignore them.
