California Wildfires
With the latest wildfires in Malibu I am beginning to think someone is starting most of these fires. I understand that there are a number of things that can start fires, but I just think someone is starting most of these fires. So, what do other think?

1. I'm thinking that the Santa Anas are doing what they normally do.
Until the rainy season begins in earnest there will be fires anywhere in Cal where the hot dry winds meet a spark.

2. Arson is a factor some of the time, yes...
But it's my understanding that the vast majority of these fires are caused by downed power lines, which happens when the powerful Santa Ana winds blow them down...

Santa Monicas. Probably just a power line came down into some brush.

The arsonists typically strike when it's not only windy but hotter than blazes.

BTW, this thing is already thousands of acres (started at 4:30 AM I heard) and probably has burned many dozens of homes. Very sad, with the holidays coming up.
