John McCain: World 'at tipping point over global warming'
A leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination declared the debate on global warming "over" yesterday and said that the US would act to save the environment.

Senator John McCain's speech at a summit on green policies indicated a crucial change in US political opinion towards climate change.

"I am convinced that we have reached the tipping point and that the Congress of the United States will act with the agreement of the administration," said Mr McCain, who is a favoured candidate in next year's presidential primaries.

"The debate is over, my friends. Now the question is: what do we do? Do we act, do we care enough about the young people of the next generation to act seriously and meaningfully, or are we going to just continue this debate and this discussion?"

.......

Mr McCain said voluntary agreements to reduce emissions from power plants and vehicles were not enough to "change the status quo".

Senator Joe Lieberman, who ran for vice-president on the Democrat ticket in 2004, co-chaired the conference with Mr McCain. He said the new Democratic-controlled Congress would pass tighter energy restrictions by 2009.

5. Even a broken watch is right sometimes
Yes, Senator, you are correct. Back this up with legislation and I'll appreciate it. I'd still never vote for you, but I'd appreciate it.

7. the tipping point has been passed.
even if ALL man-made co2 production were halted tomorrow- the planet would still continue to warm for several decades.

and all co2 production is NOT going to stop.

9. McCain has Monkeys that fly out of his ass on a regular basis
will use those Flying GREEN Monkeys for a dual purpose, ONE to save the Earth from Global warming, and TWO: As Extra Troops to send to Iraq, once Halliburton can come up with Armor that will fit over and around their little Flying Money wings :)

Repeat after me:

McCain, McCain, CRAZY IN THE BRAIN!

I honestly believe that McCain is INSANE.

10. Oh wow...
...here comes the "maverick" again.:eyes: I guess he really has this crap down to a science now. The formula must go something like: lick neo-con and RW/fundy boots for extended periods of time, but occasionally interrupt with a token "maverick" stance (when it's safe and meaningless) guaranteed to elicit the usual accolades from the MSM. The fact that he has Holy Joe with him on this is the ultimate statement on it really...
