Would a phased withdrawal be more dangerous for our troops than just packing up and leaving?

If our troops are in danger now wouldn't they be even more so if a bunch left, say forty thousand like some are advocating. I say "shit or get off the pot". We have already "shit" IMO so it is time to get off the pot and that means complete withdrawal or as some would like to say, re-deployment. I say declare victory and have a huge ticker tape parade for our troops and swear never to make such a stupid mistake again. I don't care for this "phased withdrawal" approach. I think it leaves the remaining troops in a more vulnerable position. Get the FUCK OUT NOW......

1. the plan I've seen is to withdraw from certain areas

that wouldn't leave a reduced number in those areas. I'm told we'd actually have to surge to withdraw safely as when troops are withdrawn is one of the most dangerous times in war. Get them out of Baghdad, maybe beef up Anbar and the boarders, have them all out by end of the year.

2. they will withdraw to at least 4 bases in iraq
these will be permanent strategic bases for the united states in the region.in the future other bases will be turned over to the iraqi military. it will be a slow withdraw involving some convoys into kuwait and the majority will be airlifted out. by 2009 all but a few will be home
