These people are hard working, generally law abiding, sincere,...

...extremely committed, unflinching in their beliefs, seemingly tireless, and absolutely SCARY AS HELL. The youngsters you see being indoctrinated in this dated documentary are adults now, and are the kind of people given positions of power and influence under BushCo. Their dream of taking complete control of this country is now coming to fruition, and yes, don't kid yourself, they definitely WILL be using the internment camps -- if you're not one of them, you'd better have a plan.

2. I'm not one of them, I have no illusions about them, and I have a plan.
And it's pretty damn SIMPLE, as plans go.

Recommended.

3. But -- only Islam indoctrinates people this way!
:sarcasm:

I'm aware of them, and I don't underestimate them any more than I do the psychopaths they put in the WH.

5. Aack!
These people have been scaring me for thirty years. Bunch of liars and con men. How ironic that (my hero) Burt Lancaster introduces the documentary. Elmer Gantry ain't got nothing on this lot.

6. The last Burt Lancaster movie I saw was...
...Castle Keep. I had forgotten what a good anti-war movie it is.

16. Kick for the DUers who told me we could make common cause with
these people in order to "save our Constitution". I believe the phrase was, "don't kick a gift horse in the mouth".

These people are hardly a gift horse of any breed.

17. The thing is they could be any one of us...
...If I'd been run through that kind of indoctrination as a youngster and been kept fairly well insulated from the rest of society, who's to say I wouldn't be among the most extreme of them.

The long process of indoctrination they go through during their formative years is pretty effective -- some break free of it and learn to think for themselves, but many don't.

We shouldn't hate them, but I don't know the answer on dealing with them.

18. Agreed.
It is a rare person who comes through that with any critical thinking skills intact.

I don't think we can actually deal with them. During my time working up front and center in politics I encountered many of these types. You cannot work with them because they will refuse to work with you. They will suck dry your energy and resources which could be better spent with those who are unknowing rather than those who are brain-washed.

The best thing we found was to stay away from them, track them and their followers, and educate everyone else about what these people and groups are up to. These folks need to be "left behind" while we clean up around them.

Not a very satisfactory response, I know; but it is what it is and they are what they are.

19. You make good sense -- it's just such a formidable problem...
...given the success they've had in raising there numbers. They have the potential, and certainly the determination, to swallow this country whole -- frightening.

20. It is formidable and it can be frightening.
They've managed to grow as they have, because at first no one paid attention. Then, when people noticed and said something, we were told we were nuts or conspiracy theorists or some such epithet. By the time then First Lady Hillary Clinton mentioned the "vast right wing conspiracy", some had been fighting and attempting to expose them for a couple of decades; yet no one believed it.

The only, and I mean the only good thing to come from * occupying the White House, is that many people have become aware of what's been happening these several decades and the "vast right wing conspiracy" is starting to come out into the open presuming it's safe; thereby exposing themselves for all to see.

Now, if we can only get people to remember the names and watch for the stealth candidates and others aligned with these groups, we may have a chance to keep the America the founders of this country (presumably) envisioned.
