Is Free Arab Voice a banned source?
This site (http://www.freearabvoice.org/index.htm) clearly is anti israeli and pro palestinian, and includes a regularly updated series of reports from the resistance in Iraq called Iraqi Resistance Reports. (For example http://www.freearabvoice.org/Iraq/Report/report797.htm).

We allow similarly biased pro-Israeli sources, and we certainly allow msm reports about the occupation that are of dubious impartiality at best, as well as the centcom official story, so I am wondering why we lock threads that use this site as a source?

1. It's incredibly anti-semitic.
Look, there's a whole section raving about Jewish ritual murder in Russia:

http://www.freearabvoice.org/articles/JewishHappinessRussianTears.htm

Thus in the Russian Empire, the Jews, after unsuccessful attempts by the Tsarist government to give them the status “of everybody else,” lost their equality in the 19th Century, not because they were Jewish by blood – since the empire was multinational; nor because they were not Christian – since the Muslims and Buddhists and others were not Christians either; but because the Jewish religion is anti-Christian and misanthropic to the point of ritual murder.

I mean, there's reams of this crap. I just picked that page at random.

2. I agree and I noted that.
But as I also noted we allow equally anti-muslim sites to be used as sources here.

3. There's Holocaust Denial on F.A.V as well.
Here: http://www.freearabvoice.org/aCounterFinkelsteinHolocaustLecture.htm

What equally anti-Muslim sites are permitted on DU?

4. Maybe because 1. the link was broken. 2. it was not a verifiable
story (i.e. you can't find it anywhere else on the net) and 3. it reeked of the Starpass thread of so many moons ago. :hi:

If it isn't a banned source, it should be. Jeez!

Check out DiverNan's post here - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x234114#234515

The site is registered to someone called Ibrahim Alloush - who is:

- a Holocaust denier

Ibrahim Alloush: Many revisionists are jubilant because in the last few months their cause, work, and struggles have been relatively well publicized in the Arab world. Nevertheless, there is a negative aspect to this development as well. In the past several months, we have discovered that the mythology of the "Holocaust" has made far-reaching inroads among Arab intellectuals at the highest levels, and that this mythology has established solid footholds amongst Arabs living in the West and among westernized Arabs in the Arab world. This is a very dangerous development. It arose in the atmosphere of defeatism that prevailed throughout the Arab world in the 1990s, an atmosphere that formed the backdrop for efforts to Zionize the Arab mind by, among other things, spreading the myths of the "Holocaust."

- A supporter of suicide bombs:

g. Stepping into the breach was the Jordanian Writers Association who offered to co-sponsor the conference in Amman, Jordan. Ibrahim Alloush, the head of the Jordanian Writers Association. Alloush is a radical activist and open advocate of "human bombs" who openly calls for the destruction of Israel.

- A supporter of Bin Laden who says that the US should have been attacked on 9/11 -

http://counterterror.typepad.com/the_counterterrorism_blog/files/StevenEmersonAZDebate.htm

- A supporter of insurgent attacks against US forces & Iraqi soldiers.

The website compiles a daily list of new attacks/bombings under the heading "Iraqi Resistance Report." One report proudly states how the freedom fighters successfully bombed a bus full of "puppet" National Guard troops.

This guy is an ACTIVE supporter of terrorism.
