Can you imagine talking about our Dem senators this way?

I just read this on FR.

#1 Right, we need to look to better men and better Republicans and better conservatives to be replacing Lott, not Lamar ... possibly Coburn, Cornyn, DeMint, Ensign, Inhofe, Sessions or Vitter.

#2 I agree on all but Vitter. Great conservative, but he needs a few years to live down the whole hooker thing.

#3 At least we know he ain't gay.

I realize that many DUers are unhappy with many of our senators, but imagine if we were saying
"Feingold is a good progressive, but he needs a few years to live down the whole hooker thing."
It must suck to be a Republican.

Can you envision Penn, Carville, Grunwald, McAuliffe sitting with Bill and Hillary and calculating over her 2000 senate run whether or not she'd be ready for a presidential race by 2008 after they've lived down the Monica-thing?

That's just the way things go. Barney Frank had to do it, too.
