All the candidates should enter questions. I hope they use it.

4. Its definitely campaigning, but I like that fact that he did it.
It is brilliant. Dodd is not my candidate, but I think it would be great if they all submitted a question.

7. A debate format I'd like to see is this
Edited on Tue Nov-27-07 06:58 AM by SoCalDem
weed out the goofball videoed questions, and have a line up of 50-100 shown only in link format..
and IN TURN, each candidate has to click a random link and respond to the question..if they waffle and go to the canned speech, their mike gets cut, and the next candidate chooses a random link ..

No "moderator" necessary..just a sound-person

9. good idea, but most Republicans
are programmed with specific talking points and wouldn't be able to handle something that random...

16. I would love to see this question asked to either side of the aisle.
I know that Dennis Kucinich would handle it easily but I am not sure what everyone else would have to say? I know that some were for things like the patriot act and no one really wants to even say the word impeachment, so you never really know what their agenda is. I think these issues are the issues that tell you whether the candidate is for the people or some other interest.

18. That's right.
What is their agenda? Why ARE they running? What kind of America do they really envision? Is the Constitution the backbone of this country or not? Would they rescind the powers usurped by this puppet once in the white house?

How many of the candidates have addressed this besides those two?

19. Isnt it strange that people support candidates that have stood...
by silent on critical issues like the constitution? Have Americans really been dumbed down that much that even people that educate themselves on the politics of the world ( like DU members ), will still gladly support a candidate that either doesn't have a backbone and doesn't know what it means to lead or actually has an agenda that includes destroying our constitution. There is no other issue more important than the destruction of our constitution and yet I rarely hear anything about it, I never hear people talking about what their candidate is doing to protect our rights, I mostly hear poll results or attacks, never any substance.

Its not the websites fault but a high percentage of the members here at DU have turned a great site into another MSM spin room with barely any facts coming out and allot of fights and non issues shit leading the way.

20. I'm always grateful for a Britney-free day here at DU.
But seriously, I think there are a great many DUers who share our concern for the Constitution. They are principally why I come here... that and the community companionship. When its starts dragging me down, I usually stumble upon a refreshing perspective shared, or non-reported elsewhere bit of news, or an insanely funny post or photoshopped graphic.

For the most part, people here care deeply about all of it. They are resisting the dumbing-down education received in school and in the media. This is a good place comparatively.

12. To paraphrase, he asks if they believe we need to give up
our rights in order to protect ourselves, and if we do, how then do we safeguard the Constitution.

I can only surmise it's because he's not as exciting or cute as the top three. K&R

15. Because the MSM has pre-determined the top 3
I also think that he and Biden are appealing to the same group of people, so they are splitting the votes. This is a brilliant bit of campaign strategy though.

22. Great! After Dodd himself completely blew the question in the Dem debate.
Not only embellishing on the oath of office, but saying that security is the first job of the President.

I guess he heard a lot about that one.
